Barkin, a dog voiced by Burt Reynolds, whose criminal antics involving the operation of a casino with his villain partner Carface, Vic Tayback's final film role, gets him killed. Fortunately for Charlie, it seems that the old expression is true; all dogs wind up going to Heaven when they die. Unable to rest with things unsettled and Carface going unpunished, Charlie find a way to make it back to earth on borrowed time.
Unfortunately for Charlie, his revenge plan becomes troubled when he falls for an orphaned child named Anna-Marie.This Bluth classic ticks off all of the boxes in a Don Bluth film checklist: humor, scary moments, excellent animation and Dom DeLuise in a support role. About the only bad notes about this film are its sequel films and television series pale in quality and the life story behind Anna-Marie's voice actress.
#4: The Adventures of Milo and Otis (1989)
Originally released as "A Kitten's Story" in Japan in 1986, this is a reworked version of that film with 15 minutes of video removed in exchange for narration from actors like Dudley Moore. The film is about a pug and a cat who become fast friends and soon become separated for several seasons, having life experiences of their own in their mutual quest to reunite.
